Calabar, October 1, 2024 – As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence anniversary, Rt. Hon. Orok Otu Duke, the Cross River State Representative to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to fostering sustainable development in Cross River State. In his Independence Day message, Duke highlighted the unwavering resolve of the NDDC to contribute meaningfully to the growth and prosperity of the state.

Duke acknowledged the efforts of Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu in steering the affairs of Cross River amidst the economic challenges the nation is facing. “Today, we celebrate the unity, resilience, and progress of our great nation. Through the dedication of the Niger Delta Development Commission, we remain committed to building a prosperous future for Cross River State and Nigeria,” Duke said. He emphasized that the NDDC’s focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability remains a top priority, especially in these challenging times.

The Cross River NDDC Representative also lauded the resilience of the people of the state, recognizing their ability to persevere and thrive despite the nation’s economic hardships. He expressed confidence that the spirit of unity and hard work that defines Cross Riverians will continue to drive progress, both at the state and national levels.

As part of his Independence Day message, Duke called for renewed cooperation among stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to promote peace and stability. He noted that the Commission’s efforts would be meaningless without a collective resolve to ensure the peaceful coexistence necessary for development.

In conclusion, Rt. Hon. Duke assured Cross Riverians that the NDDC would remain focused on its mandate to deliver meaningful projects and initiatives that would improve the quality of life for all. “Together, we will continue to pave the way for sustainable development, peace, and a brighter tomorrow for all,” he said.
