The screening involved a thorough review of credentials, employment records, and other relevant documents. The process was designed to ensure that all personnel met the required qualifications and standards necessary to deliver quality education. According to the Council, the exercise formed part of its commitment to upholding professionalism and accountability in the education sector, with the understanding that the quality of education is critical to the future of the community.

Speaking during the exercise, the Head of Local Government Administration (H.O.L.G.A), Dr. Mrs. Obal Esang, highlighted its significance. She said:

“The screening and verification exercise was not merely a procedural step; it was a vital investment in the future of our children. By ensuring that our teachers and education staff were qualified, dedicated, and properly documented, we laid the foundation for a robust and thriving educational environment. Our commitment remains to provide the best possible learning opportunities for every child in Akamkpa LGA.”

The exercise lasted nine hours, during which all affected staff fully cooperated with the screening committee by providing the necessary documentation. A dedicated team was put in place to oversee the process, ensuring that it was conducted efficiently and with minimal disruption to school activities.

The Council expressed gratitude to staff members, parents, and other stakeholders for their support and understanding during the exercise, which it described as a proactive step toward building a stronger education sector in the area.
