The Cross River State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Duke, PhD, has called on qualified youths across the state to take advantage of the 2026/2027 Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme recently announced by the Commission.

Chief Duke, in a statement made available to journalists, described the scholarship scheme as a strategic investment in human capital development aimed at empowering young people from the Niger Delta region with global exposure and competitive skills.

According to him, the initiative provides a golden opportunity for Cross Riverians to pursue Master’s Degree programmes in top institutions abroad in critical fields such as Engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences, Medical Sciences, Law, and other key disciplines vital to regional and national development.

He urged interested applicants, particularly indigenes of Cross River State, to promptly visit the official NDDC portal to begin their application process before the April 19, 2026 deadline.

“This scholarship programme is a life-changing opportunity for our young people. I encourage all eligible Cross Riverians to apply and position themselves for global relevance. Education remains one of the strongest tools for sustainable development,” Chief Duke stated.

The NDDC scholarship programme targets candidates with strong academic credentials, especially those with First Class and Second Class Upper degrees, who are not more than 40 years of age.

Chief Duke further assured applicants of his commitment to ensuring that Cross River State secures its fair share of slots in the programme, urging transparency, merit, and strict adherence to the application guidelines.

He also emphasized the importance of proper documentation, including admission letters from recognized foreign universities, NYSC certificates, and local government identification, as key requirements for successful application.

The NDDC Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme is part of the Commission’s broader mandate to build capacity and equip youths in the Niger Delta with the expertise needed to drive development and innovation in the region.
