The Executive Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Council, Hon. Amb. (Ophot) Felix Akposi KSJI, has added another remarkable milestone to his record of service, earning national recognition as a recipient of the Best Performing Local Government Chairman Award conferred by the Niger Delta Peace Ambassador Initiative. He was also formally decorated and certified as a Niger Delta Peace Ambassador (United Nations Peace Volunteer), alongside the presentation of an official Special Plate Number in recognition of his peace advocacy role.

The ceremony, held on March 27, 2026, at the Niger Delta Peace Ambassador Secretariat in Benin City, Edo State, brought together distinguished personalities and stakeholders committed to promoting peace, leadership, and sustainable development across the region.

Representing the Chairman at the event, the Chief Press Secretary, Comr. Daniel Agbor, conveyed deep appreciation to the organizers, describing the honour as both humbling and deeply symbolic. He noted that while the recognition affirms the strides made by the Akamkpa administration, it is, more importantly, “a call to do more and not to relent in the service of our people.”

In his message, Hon. Akposi reflected on a life defined by service, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to the common good. He acknowledged that every milestone achieved is rooted in divine grace, dedicating the award first to God Almighty, whose guidance continues to light the path of leadership.

He further dedicated the honour to the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Sen. Apostle (Dr.) Prince Bassey Otu, for his visionary leadership and the enabling environment created through the People First agenda, which continues to inspire impactful governance across the state.

Most importantly, the Chairman dedicated the award to the resilient and peace-loving people of Akamkpa, whose trust, cooperation, and shared belief in progress remain the true driving force behind every achievement recorded by the administration.

Speaking further, Comr. Agbor emphasized that the recognition as a Peace Ambassador in the Niger Delta is not merely ceremonial but a solemn responsibility. He reiterated that peace remains the bedrock of sustainable development, stressing that no meaningful progress can thrive in an atmosphere of conflict.

According to him, “this honour strengthens our resolve to continue preaching and practicing peace, unity, and inclusiveness as the surest path to development in Akamkpa and beyond.”

He also echoed earlier sentiments that the award is a collective achievement, belonging to “youths, women, elders, and critical stakeholders, whose unwavering support remains the bedrock of the administration’s success.”

High point of the event was the presentation of the award and the special Peace plate number to the Chairman amidst accolade and glowing tribute.

This latest recognition further underscores Hon. Akposi’s growing reputation as a leader committed to grassroots transformation, people-centered governance, and lasting impact.

The message remains clear: the journey of service continues with renewed strength, guided by faith, driven by purpose, and anchored on the enduring belief that peace is the ultimate catalyst for progress.
