The call was made yesterday during the 25th anniversary of the coronation of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, held at the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star world headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State.

Speaking at the event, the President of All Priests, Edet Uliong, stressed that humility remains the cornerstone of effective leadership, noting that leaders who prioritise the welfare of others would achieve lasting success.

According to him, the teachings of the spiritual leader emphasise that “the greatest among men is the one who humbles himself,” adding that such values should be extended beyond religious circles into governance and public service.

He said, “If our leaders practise humility and adopt servant leadership, there is nothing they cannot achieve. This is the solution to many of the challenges facing Nigeria and the world today.”

Uliong explained that the anniversary marked the silver jubilee of the physical coronation of Olumba Obu as the “King of kings and Lord of lords,” describing the milestone as a celebration of spiritual impact and global influence.

He further noted that the teachings of the Brotherhood promote peace, unity, and coexistence, urging Nigerians to embrace the principle of “live and let live” in their daily interactions.

The clerics maintained that adopting values such as humility, tolerance, and selfless service remains critical to overcoming Nigeria’s current challenges and fostering sustainable development.

Also speaking, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland and leader of the Oodua People’s Congress, Gani Adams, commended the spiritual leader for his contributions to unity and development.

Adams described his participation in the event as a worthwhile experience, pledging to share the lessons of unity and progress with his followers.

“I have seen great achievements here and a strong commitment to unity. This is something that should be encouraged across the country,” he said.

He also lauded the cordial relationship between the organisation and government authorities, praying for continued wisdom and strength for the leadership of the Brotherhood.

The event attracted worshippers and dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, with participants emphasising the need for moral reawakening and collective responsibility in nation-building.
