In a heartfelt address to party faithfuls, Cross Riverians, and Nigerians at large, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretary in Cross River State, Pastor Patrick Asikpo Okon, emphasized the enduring spirit of Nigerians as the nation marks another Democracy Day. He assured that a brighter future lies ahead as the country begins to harness the benefits of its ongoing development efforts.

Pastor Okon commended the remarkable leadership of the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu. He highlighted the governor’s proactive approach and robust infrastructural initiatives that are setting a new pace for the state’s development. “Governor Otu’s leadership is a testament to what can be achieved when we combine vision with action. His dedication to transforming Cross River State through infrastructural advancements is evident and commendable,” Okon stated.

The APC Secretary also pointed out the governor’s commitment to a Green Economy, emphasizing sustainable development and environmental stewardship. This initiative aims to balance economic growth with ecological preservation, ensuring a healthier future for generations to come. “Governor Otu’s focus on a Green Economy is not just about the present but about securing the future for our children,” he noted.

Additionally, Okon highlighted the strategic development in the oil and gas sector, which is poised to become a cornerstone of the state’s economic prosperity. The state government’s efforts to maximize the potential of these resources are expected to create numerous opportunities and drive significant economic growth. “Our foray into the oil and gas sector will provide an economic leeway that will benefit all Cross Riverians,” he assured.

Pastor Okon called on Cross Riverians to recognize and support the economic imprint being established by Governor Otu’s administration. He urged unity and collective effort to foster a pattern of geometric growth across all sectors, from agriculture to technology, education, and beyond. “Our strength lies in our unity. Together, we can achieve a geometric growth pattern that will uplift every sector of our society,” he said.

He also took a moment to commend the resilient spirit of Cross Riverians, acknowledging their perseverance amidst present challenges. He reassured them that these trying times are temporary and that the fruits of their patience and hard work are within reach. “The resilience of our people is truly inspiring. These tough times are but for a moment, and soon we will all reap the rewards of our collective efforts,” Okon expressed.

As the nation celebrates Democracy Day, Pastor Okon emphasized the importance of remembering the principles of democracy and governance that underpin the nation’s progress. He encouraged Nigerians to stay hopeful and engaged in the democratic process, reminding them that their voices and actions are vital to the country’s continued development.

In conclusion, Pastor Okon reaffirmed his commitment to the values of the APC and the people of Cross River State, pledging continued support and advocacy for initiatives that promote growth, unity, and prosperity. “As we celebrate Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to these values and work together towards a brighter future for all,” he concluded.
