Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi, Chairman of the Akamkpa Local Government Council, echoed this message by stressing the essence of love, devotion to God, and communal unity. “We are called to love God with all our strength and to reciprocate this by loving our neighbours and the things of God,” he affirmed. Reflecting on his own journey and emergence as chairman, Akposi credited divine providence, dubbing it a testament to the campaign mantra, “Serve the People,” inspired by Mark 10:45. He underscored the inseparable bond between serving people and working with the church, emphasising the need for collective efforts in building faith and community cohesion.

Reiterating his commitment, Akposi spoke of the imperative for unity among Christians and rejected the notion of division and disharmony. “All churches are one, and we must collaborate to uplift both our faith and our community,” he declared, urging believers to build bridges of love and peace. His message highlighted the spiritual growth and continual construction of the church as pivotal aspects of their shared mission.

In a gesture of generosity and solidarity, the chairman made a substantial donation to support the church’s endeavours. He affirmed the importance of constant communion with God, pledging to maintain a close relationship with the church. His contribution exemplified his belief in translating faith into action for the benefit of all.

Earlier, in his message, Pastor Tony emphasised the transformative power of testimonies and thanksgiving to God, urging believers to embody God’s mercy by extending love and compassion to their neighbours, even amidst life’s trials.

The Harvest Thanksgiving marked the second for Pastor Tony Effiong Nsokpo as resident pastor. He reiterated his determination to lead the congregation in constructing a fitting house of worship. Expressing heartfelt appreciation, Pastor Tony commended the people of Akamkpa for their steadfast support and unwavering faith.

In a closing prayer, Pastor Tony offered blessings and words of encouragement for Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi and the people of Akamkpa, calling for renewed unity, love, and spiritual dedication. His remarks resonated with attendees, leaving an indelible mark of hope and purpose for the congregation and beyond.

The event was a celebration of faith, love, and collective commitment, reaffirming the call to “Arise and Build” both spiritually and communally, with hearts full of gratitude and resolve.
