The State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Patrick Asikpo, has heartily congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on his emergence as Vice Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum. Describing the feat as a testament to his sterling leadership credentials, Asikpo extolled the Governor’s visionary governance and unwavering commitment to the development of the state.

According to the APC State Scribe, Governor Otu’s selection is a recognition of his proactive strides in governance, which have positioned Cross River as a beacon of progress within the South-South region. “This feat is a direct consequence of his exemplary leadership and strategic governance, which have set the state on an irreversible trajectory of socio-economic transformation. His choice by the forum will serve as a catalyst for regional synergy, strategic planning, and the advancement of developmental opportunities across the South-South,” Asikpo remarked.

Pastor Asikpo further noted that Governor Otu’s leadership acumen, administrative dexterity, and people-centred policies have endeared him to stakeholders beyond the confines of Cross River. He expressed confidence that the Governor’s new role would bring greater dividends not just to the state, but to the entire South-South geopolitical zone, fostering economic rejuvenation, infrastructural expansion, and political inclusivity.

Similarly, Asikpo extended his felicitations to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, who recently clinched a prestigious national award for leadership service, emerging as the Best Chief of Staff in Nigeria. He lauded Ironbar’s unwavering dedication, administrative ingenuity, and astute political management, describing the recognition as a well-deserved honour for a man who has consistently demonstrated competence and resilience in public service.

The APC State Secretary emphasised that Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar has, over the years, distinguished himself as a strategic force in governance, and it is therefore unsurprising that his contributions have earned him such a coveted national honour. “His award is a testament to his indefatigable work ethic, administrative sagacity, and commitment to effective governance. Cross River State is blessed to have a Chief of Staff of his calibre, whose footprints in governance continue to elevate the Otu administration’s impact,” Asikpo stated.

Speaking with our correspondent, Asikpo described these recent milestones as a harbinger of the return of the glory days in Cross River State. He asserted that under Governor Otu’s leadership, the state is witnessing a renaissance of development, anchored on a strategic blueprint that prioritises people-centric policies, infrastructural advancement, and economic revitalisation.

He, however, noted that unlike previous fleeting moments of political and developmental highs, the foundation being laid by Governor Otu is structurally sound and will stand the test of time. “What we are seeing is not an ephemeral wave of progress, but a well-orchestrated agenda of sustainable development. With the Governor’s strategic interventions, astute policy formulation, and inclusive governance, Cross River is on the path to lasting transformation,” he affirmed.

Asikpo further reiterated the APC’s unwavering support for the Governor’s developmental agenda, urging all stakeholders to rally behind his vision for the state. He stressed that the new era of governance must be devoid of partisan bickering, as the collective goal should be to uplift Cross River and restore its preeminent status in Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.

With Governor Otu at the helm and committed allies like Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar steering critical administrative functions, Cross River is poised for an era of unprecedented growth. The APC stalwart assured that the party remains committed to working in tandem with the administration to ensure that the state continues on this path of excellence, stability, and all-encompassing development.
