…Akposi promises instant impact in Akamkpa as Chairman…

The Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty Ophot Agbor Ebani, has issued a fervent call to leaders and stakeholders, urging them to place a greater emphasis on the long-overdue development of Akamkpa. Highlighting the protracted marginalization that has beleaguered the area, he emphasized the imperative for collaborative efforts to rectify past neglect.

During a consultative meeting held at his Uyanga Palace with the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Akamkpa LGA, Chief Felix Akposi, the monarch expressed profound disappointment over the continued oversight faced by the region, despite its pivotal role as the state’s “food basket.” His Majesty’s words reflected a deep-seated concern over Akamkpa’s unrecognized potential and underutilized resources.

In his address, the royal father implored Chief Akposi to work hand-in-hand with the governor and other prominent stakeholders to redress the longstanding grievances of Akamkpa if he is elected. “We have leaders in Akamkpa who could competently serve as senators, or even governors,” he lamented, attributing the area’s exclusion from such opportunities to systemic marginalization and discrimination.

The paramount ruler further urged local political leaders to uphold the zoning system within Akamkpa, noting that the arrangement has historically fostered equilibrium in power-sharing, resource allocation, and harmony across constituencies and wards. According to him, maintaining this zoning structure is crucial for sustaining peace and unity in the LGA.

Acknowledging the governor’s decision in choosing Chief Akposi as the APC candidate, the monarch described it as a “unifying choice.” He encouraged Chief Akposi to embody the spirit of unity and commitment toward Akamkpa’s development, assuring him of the community’s support in his mission.

Chief Felix Akposi, in his response, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and blessings bestowed by the paramount ruler. He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to Akamkpa, pledging that, if elected, he would closely collaborate with the traditional rulers’ council. Akposi also assured the community of his dedication to revitalizing essential services and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

The visit culminated in the symbolic breaking of kola nuts, accompanied by spiritual invocations, as prayers were offered for the success of all candidates in the upcoming election.
