The Akamkpa Local Government Council is undergoing a remarkable transformation under the leadership of Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi, KSJI, as efforts to restore and enhance existing structures take center stage. Recognising the pivotal role of institutional maintenance in governance, the Chairman has prioritised infrastructure rehabilitation, ensuring that expansion and sustainable development are built on a solid foundation.

Currently, the executive wing of the council has undergone massive infrastructural renovation with all the offices fixed and furnished. This renovation according to the Chairman became very necessary as a conducive working environment gives room for efficiency, effectiveness and maximum delivery of services.

According to Hon. Akposi, neglecting existing structures in favour of new projects would be a grave disservice to both his administration and the people of Akamkpa. “It will be a great disservice to me and my people to ignore what we have now, giving room for infrastructural decay and other negative tendencies,” he stated, affirming his commitment to responsible governance and long-term progress.

Guided by the “Serve the People” mantra, the Chairman emphasised that his administration is not driven by personal ambition but by the genuine resolve to deliver on campaign promises. He reiterated that he came to reengineer public perception, stressing that public wealth belongs to all and must be harnessed for the collective good of every Akamkpa son and daughter.

The council has already begun strategic interventions, focusing on low-hanging fruits—quick-impact projects aimed at optimising resources and ensuring tangible benefits reach the grassroots. “Our developmental strides will trickle down to the least in society. While some agitate to control our commonwealth, we are focused on extending it to all,” the Chairman declared.

This renewed governance approach underscores the need for an inclusive administration, where the local government’s resources serve the entire community rather than a privileged few. By prioritising maintenance, expansion, and equitable resource distribution, Akamkpa is charting a new course towards sustainable development, ensuring that no one is left behind.
