The Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has described teachers as the true architects of the future, whose sacrifices and intellect sustain the foundation of society.
In a tribute aimed at commemorating the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, Ndoma-Egba said the academic staff of FUOYE and educators across the world, are indispensable in shaping minds, nurturing values, and driving national development.
He noted that education goes beyond the delivery of lectures or the awarding of certificates, describing it instead as a deliberate process of cultivating discipline, transmitting values, and forming vision.
According to him, “Genuine education equips students to analyse challenges with clarity, address them with courage, and generate solutions that are sustainable and socially relevant.”
Speaking on this year’s theme, “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” the FUOYE Pro-Chancellor emphasized the need for synergy among educators, institutions, and disciplines. He said collaboration enhances innovation, broadens knowledge, and ensures that education remains inclusive and resilient.
Ndoma-Egba reaffirmed his commitment to working with the University’s leadership to create an environment where lecturers can thrive, professional growth is encouraged, and excellence becomes the institutional standard.
“As Pro-Chancellor, I affirm that your work is not invisible. It is valued, indispensable, and the true measure of our institutional strength,” he stated, while commending teachers for their resilience, brilliance, and devotion to the noble calling of teaching.
The former lawmaker urged educators to continue shaping lives, elevating scholarship, and advancing the frontiers of knowledge for the benefit of the university, the nation, and humanity.
