Prof David said that the university is committed in taking disciplinary actions against students who do not obey the set rules governing the university.

The Vice-Chancellor disclosed this on Thursday during the matriculation of the university for the 2023/2024 academic session.

He said that many Nigerians today are sad and depressed because they have developed negative attitudes and refuse to work hard in achieving their set goals and objectives.

The VC charged all UNICROSS students, including the freshers, “to give priority to their academic work above any other activities,” adding, “That they are allowed to participate in other social activities as long as it is against their school work”.

He encouraged the students to “feel free to to interact with your counterparts and enjoy the facilities available here such as the main library, laboratories and others”.

He further advised the matriculants to live up to the matriculation oath by avoiding all unethical acts that can affect them negatively as well as tarnish the good image of the university.

“I welcome all of you this ceremony is an induction into the university family for matriculants. It is a journey that you have started.

“Sit down and get to the end of this journey, the journey may take 5 years some 4 years as the case maybe depending on your course of study.

“The university will assist you to smoothly finish this journey, but note that Social vices such as cultism, fighting, examination malpractice, robbery, and other mischievous acts have no place in this noble institutions”-The VC said.

The matriculation is also expected to hold tomorrow in the Ogoja, Okuku campus of the University.
