In a resounding declaration, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo has hailed the 2024 Easter as a pivotal moment for consolidation. Emphasizing the imperative to strengthen engagements forged over the years. Asuquo underscored a strategic shift towards fostering partnerships not only with the government but with the people themselves. ” Let me first and foremost thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HE. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor of Cross River State, HE. Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, all the elected officers and all government functionaries, for their doggedness and take charge attitude to reposition the state and country”.

“Their commitment and recent stride in creating a synergy between the government and the private sector which has always been very tense is very commendable”.

According to Asuquo, “There has never been trust, understanding, and harmony between the government and the private which creates a breeding ground for disunity. Having been in both sectors with proven track records, we are poised to bridge the gap.”

As part of the consolidation process, Asuquo pledged to unveil numerous programmes aimed at engaging the youth in meaningful employment opportunities.

He stressed that while the government plays a crucial role, it cannot address all societal challenges alone, hence the need to consolidate efforts and tackle issues such as unemployment youth restiveness, and other vices. Asuquo cited examples from his post-office engagements, including the shared dividends approach on his 720-hectare cocoa farm in Akamkpa which has employed over 400 individuals.

Additionally, he highlighted the employment of nearly a hundred persons in a service apartment, with plans for further expansion in the pipeline.

Encouraging both Christians and Muslims to embrace a bond of brotherhood, Asuquo urged them to contribute meaningfully to society and leave a positive legacy. He called for a collective reflection on reshaping the nation’s narrative, emphasizing that many of the challenges faced today are man-made and thus, solutions are within reach. Asuquo concluded with a steadfast assurance that the recent positive indicators in the economy must be nurtured into fruition, stressing the paramount importance of everyone’s contribution.

The message from Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo resonates as a clarion call for unity, collaboration, and purposeful action. With a focus on consolidating partnerships and addressing societal challenges, the Easter of 2024 emerges as a beacon of hope and opportunity for all.
