In a detailed appraisal, Ntufam Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo has commended Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his one year in office. Asuquo, a notable politician and business mogul, highlighted the significant strides made by Governor Otu, noting that his tenure has been marked by remarkable achievements reflecting the administration’s “People First Mantra.”

Ntufam Daniel Asuquo, who manages a diverse portfolio of businesses, including Doveline Agro Alliedโ€”a leading cocoa farm in Africaโ€”and Doveline Investment, a mining and facility management company employing over 1000 staff, emphasized the Governor’s commitment to people-oriented programs. He praised Otu’s efforts, stating, “HE. Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu is touching the fabric of governance by going after the low-hanging fruits with widespread effects as it benefits the vast majority.”

Asuquo underscored the Governor’s initiatives in the Green Economy Revolution, infrastructural upgrades, and the Blue Economy. These efforts have significantly enhanced the state’s aesthetics and security. “The synergy with relevant stakeholders in turning the security architecture of the state from all-round low to the state with the lowest crime rate shows a purposeful government,” Asuquo remarked.

The former legislator also highlighted the renewed relationship between the state government and the National Assembly, a development that promises to improve the welfare of the people across various districts and constituencies. This collaboration marks a departure from the past, where such synergy was largely absent.

Governor Otu has been lauded for his political acumen and administrative prowess. Asuquo noted that the Governor has infused depth, sagacity, and dexterity into service delivery, proving himself to be both an astute politician and a dogged administrator.

The revival of the tourism industry under Governor Otu’s leadership has also been noteworthy. Asuquo praised the Governor for the remarkable work done at the Obudu Mountain Resort and other tourist sites across the state. Additionally, he highlighted the Governor’s strong connection with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which has facilitated the commencement of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway projectโ€”a key infrastructure initiative.

“Thank you, Your Excellencies, the Governor and your Deputy for making Akamkpa to be in the infrastructure road map with the construction of the Oban – Okoroba – Nsan road that is ongoing which I believe many more are underway. The rehabilitation of the national grid for electricity that is near completion also speaks of your commitment to the values you place on development and the well being of your people”.

Furthermore, Asuquo commended the Governor’s inclusive approach to governance. “Governor Otu has ensured that every sector is represented, driving the spirit of thrift and industry, and reducing over-reliance on political handouts,” he said.

Asuquo concluded his address by urging Governor Otu to maintain his momentum and avoid complacency. He assured the people of Cross River State that they are in safe hands with Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu at the helm, emphasizing the Governor’s commitment to the state’s progress and development.

In summary, Ntufam Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo’s commendation of Governor Otu underscores a successful first year marked by strategic initiatives and people-centered policies. Asuquo’s detailed account highlights the Governor’s significant contributions to various sectors, setting a strong foundation for future growth and development in Cross River State.
