Following the successful conclusion of the local government elections on November 2, 2024, Rev. Harrison Efa, Chairman of the Labour Party in Calabar Municipal, has expressed heartfelt thanks to God for a smooth and peaceful electoral process, as well as the swearing-in ceremony that officially ushered in new leadership in local government councils across Cross River State. He acknowledged the significance of this democratic milestone, noting it as a testament to the resilience and faith of the people in shaping their local governance.
Rev. Efa extended his gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for his visionary leadership and commendable wisdom in steering Cross River State towards a path of development and progress. According to Efa, the Governor’s commitment to democracy and transparency has renewed hope for the people, creating an environment in which all candidates could freely express their aspirations for a better future.
In a special message to the Labour Party family, Rev. Efa commended the State Party Chairman, Patriarch Ogar Osim, the Vice Chairman South, Bishop Archibong, the State Secretary, chairmanship and vice-chairmanship candidates, as well as the ten councillorship aspirants who courageously contested in each of Calabar Municipal’s wards. He praised their audacity and resilience in the face of a competitive electoral landscape, affirming that their dedication and unyielding spirit exemplify the Labour Party’s principles of service and integrity.
Rev. Efa encouraged the Labour Party candidates to hold steadfastly to their ideals, assuring them that their commitment to public service holds the promise of a brighter future. “Your courage and passion in this journey reflect the calibre of leaders needed to drive meaningful change in our communities,” he remarked, underscoring the value of perseverance and patience in politics.
