With the theme “Hope Waddell Training Institution A glorious heritage inspiring the future”, the Hope Waddell Training Institution has launched a One billion Naira Legacy Trust Fund.

The Legacy Trust Fund registered with cooperate affairs with 8 board members of trustees will be used to finance lacking infrastructures within the school.

Speaking in a Press Conference held in Calabar on Monday the National President of Hope Waddell Old Student Association Efio-ita Ephraim disclosed that the proceeds of the funds will be used to Carter for the welfare of the old boys as well as the launch of a museum.

He noted that the institute will continue to prioritize it’s members, as well as bring to light the institution.

“You may see that 1billion is a small money, and also a big money but when invested the proceeds will be used to carter for the lacking infrastructures that the institution need.

“There are a lot of things that this old boys have done. For example, the chemistry, physics and balance laboratories in this school were all renovated by the North American branch of Hope waddel old students association.

“They also provided all the equipment, and chemicals required, in those laboratories. The class set also went ahead to the one of the geography lab, and set it up.

“Another class set also worked on the agric science, laboratory to the extent that Hope Waddel used to be a Cambridge examination center in the past, but lost that status.

“But we requested that Hope waddel be certificated again as a Cambridge examination center. So they came and inspected the facilities In the school and found it good enough. And so this school is a Cambridge examination center. We need to make, tap the benefit of that not just as students of this school, but even the calabar, cross River State.”

Also speaking, the prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ekpenyong Akpanika, represented by most Reverend Daniel Etim emphasized the importance of preserving the institution’s heritage.

The trust fund he highlighted aims to showcase the institution’s rich history and cultural significance, and the legacy fund will play a crucial role in turning this vision into reality. By supporting this project, the fund will contribute to the preservation of the institution’s legacy and provide a valuable resource for future generations.

Highlight of the anniversary will feature competitions, football matches, golf, table tennis, dinner and award night, thanksgiving service among others.
