The Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Council, Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi KSJI, has extended heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty for the dawn of the New Year 2025. Addressing newsmen, Hon. Akposi, on behalf of the good people of the local government area, welcomed all residents to a brand-new year, a new month, and the beginning of a promising new chapter.

In his address, Hon. Akposi expressed deep gratitude for divine guidance throughout the previous year, acknowledging God’s unchanging faithfulness. “I thank God for leading us thus far. On our own, the strength to continue had ebbed out, but Your mighty hands have always been with us. You have been our strength in times when we were weak, comforting us in our grieving and weakest moments. You have given us our little flower to spark us up in the various endeavours You have blessed us with,” he remarked.

Reflecting on 2024, the chairman acknowledged the successes and challenges of the past year. He highlighted the foundational work laid in 2024 as a springboard for greater achievements in 2025. “We may have made mistakes, stepped on toes, and fallen short in some projects. Yet, in all things, we give thanks to God. Let us see this year as a new beginning of reconciliation, reconstruction, and restoration,” he urged.

Hon. Akposi called on the people of Akamkpa to embrace 2025 as a year of transformation. He underscored the need to harmonise differences in socio-economic and political agendas, anchoring them in mutual respect, trust, and a genuine love for one another. “This year, let us harness our diverse strengths for the common good, guided by the principles of unity and collective growth,” he said.

The chairman also reaffirmed his unwavering support for the leadership of Cross River State, led by His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey. He further commended the steadfast contributions of Her Excellency, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, describing her as a strong pillar to her husband and a beacon of hope for the state.

Hon. Akposi appealed to the people of Akamkpa to continue praying for the state’s leadership while extending their prayers to his administration. “Leadership is a sacred trust, and I do not take lightly the responsibility you have bestowed on me to guide Akamkpa. I pledge to serve with honesty, dedication, and a genuine love for our land and people,” he stated passionately.

He reminded the people of Akamkpa that their heritage is a patrimony entrusted to them by generations past. “Akamkpa is ours to nurture and protect. We must work collectively to leave a lasting legacy for our children’s children, one that they can proudly call their own,” he emphasised.

As the new year begins, the chairman called for unity and purposeful collaboration. “Let us reason together, work together, and build a better Akamkpa. Let this be the year where love, trust, and mutual respect become the hallmarks of our communal existence,” he urged.

Hon. Akposi further assured the people of his administration’s commitment to the mantra “Serve the People,” promising to prioritise their collective interest and shared prosperity. He encouraged all residents to contribute selflessly toward building a brighter future for the local government area.

In conclusion, the chairman declared 2025 a year of hope, purpose, and meaningful change for Akamkpa. “May this year be filled with divine blessings, and may we see the fruits of our labour as we walk the path of reconciliation, transformation, and restoration,” he prayed.

Hon. Akposi’s heartfelt message resonated with the community’s aspirations, leaving them inspired and ready to embark on this new journey with renewed determination.

God bless Akamkpa! God bless Cross River State! I love you all!
