Rt. Hon. Orok Duke has been instrumental in ensuring the effective distribution of these solar street lights, emphasizing the importance of sustainable energy solutions in improving public safety and community wellbeing. His proactive approach has garnered praise from local leaders and residents alike, highlighting the tangible benefits of the NDDC’s initiatives in the region.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Daniel Sokari Pedro, mni for South, during a commendation event, lauded this initiative, noting the critical role these lights play in crime prevention and community safety. He revealed that Cross River State now boasts the lowest crime rate in the southern region, attributing this achievement to the enhanced security infrastructure, including the newly installed solar street lights.

Similarly, the Commissioner of Police for Cross River State, CP Gyogon Grimah Augustine, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the positive impact of the solar street lights on the state’s overall security landscape. He stated that the deployment of these lights has significantly contributed to reducing crime rates, making Cross River State the safest in the South-South Geo-Political Zone.

The installation of solar street lights at the police headquarters and various divisions is a strategic move aimed at bolstering security measures and providing a safer environment for both law enforcement officers and the general public. These lights ensure better visibility and surveillance, deterring criminal activities and enhancing the operational efficiency of the police force.

Governor Bassey Otu has also been commended for his leadership and support of the NDDC’s initiatives. Under his administration, there has been a concerted effort to prioritize infrastructure development and security enhancements, fostering a safer and more prosperous environment for the citizens of Cross River State.

The collaboration between the NDDC, state government, and police force exemplifies a successful model of integrated efforts to address community needs and improve public safety. The solar street lights project stands as a testament to the positive outcomes of such partnerships, delivering practical and sustainable solutions to pressing issues.

Residents of Cross River State have expressed their appreciation for the improved lighting in their communities, noting the increased sense of security and the positive effects on their daily lives. The initiative has not only enhanced safety but also contributed to the overall aesthetic and functionality of public spaces.

As the NDDC continues to roll out its solar street lights program, the sustained efforts of Rt. Hon. Orok Duke and the commendable support from various stakeholders underscore the transformative potential of community-focused development projects. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the ongoing journey towards a safer, more sustainable Cross River State.
