The Cross River South Consultative Forum (CRSCF) has expressed gratitude to the people of Cross River South Senatorial District for their overwhelming support and participation in the recently held Grand Reception and “Thank You Rally” in Calabar.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, 2nd July at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, drew a record crowd of over 30,000 citizens from across the seven local government areas of the district.
It was organized in honour of President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu.
In a statement issued on Thursday, and signed by CRSCF Chairman, Hon. Eyo Nsa Ekpo, Esq., the forum described the event as a “rally to remember” and a clear reflection of unity, civic responsibility, and collective aspiration for good governance.
“This rally was not just an expression of gratitude; it was a declaration of unity and a reaffirmation of our collective desire for continuity, peace, and progress in our dear state,” the statement read.
The forum acknowledged the role of local government chairmen, councillors, state and federal lawmakers, commissioners, and political appointees from the region for mobilizing at the grassroots level. Traditional rulers, women and youth organizations, market associations, and faith-based groups were also praised for their contributions.
The CRSCF gave special recognition to Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Chief of General Staff to the Governor, for his “unrelenting support and coordination,” as well as to the former Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, who chairs the Forum’s Elders Advisory Council.
His Eminence, the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, along with other traditional leaders from the southern senatorial district, were also appreciated for their moral guidance and presence.
The forum emphasized that the success of the rally signified the people’s alignment with the People-First governance agenda being pursued by the current administration in the state and at the federal level.
“We thank you for showing the nation that Cross River South is united, hopeful, and ready for the future,” the forum concluded.
