The Forum of Special Advisers in Cross River State has officially endorsed the administration of Governor Bassey Otu, commending his exceptional governance and transformative policies.

The Special Advisers, representing the three senatorial districts—North, Central, and South—lauded the Governor’s numerous achievements, particularly in infrastructure, healthcare, and security.

Speaking on behalf of the forum on Friday at the Ernest Bassey Press Centre in Calabar, the chairman, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, declared that the forum was passing a vote of confidence in Governor Otu based on the tangible impact of his administration’s policies.

Akiba, who also serves as the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, described the endorsement as a testament to Governor Otu’s outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to good governance.

In the northern senatorial district, Akiba highlighted key infrastructural projects, noting that the Governor had awarded contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in Ogoja, Bekwarra, and Yala, thereby enhancing farmers’ access to markets and boosting the local economy.

*”Governor Bassey Otu’s developmental strides are transforming lives and building prosperity. His administration is ushering in a new era of progress across Cross River State, significantly improving infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and rural electrification.

“These projects are not just about physical structures; they are revitalising communities, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the well-being of our people.

“Despite inheriting a state with lean financial resources, His Excellency has prioritised critical road infrastructure. As we speak, the Border Road in Ikom is undergoing massive reconstruction, as well as Ikom Market Road and Mile 2.

“The Governor’s influence at the national level has been instrumental in attracting developmental projects to the state. A visit to Mbok Junction reveals the impact of his leadership—from roads to the rehabilitation of the state library. Governor Otu deserves accolades for restoring the very essence of governance.

“In terms of security, Cross Riverians can now sleep with both eyes closed. Even in his absence, the Governor’s vision and commitment to the people remain evident,”* Akiba stated.

Further elaborating on the administration’s strides, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Events, Effiong Ekpenyong, disclosed that Governor Otu had implemented over 20 strategic interventions in primary healthcare and security.

He praised the Governor’s leadership style, describing his vision for Cross River State as unparalleled.

*”Governor Otu’s transformation agenda has rekindled confidence and hope among the people. As a typical Calabar man, he understands the city’s needs. Today, in Calabar South, there are no potholes on major roads, and traffic lights are operational across key intersections.

“Bassey Otu has constructed critical roads such as Jebs and Palm Street. Even at night, the state library is illuminated. During the festive period, we witnessed an influx of investors due to the Governor’s proactive collaboration with security agencies, ensuring a crime-free environment,”* Ekpenyong stated.

The forum also urged the media to uphold accuracy by fact-checking reports before publication. Additionally, they commended the Governor’s wife for her laudable contributions to healthcare and women’s development initiatives across the state.
