In a press statement issued under the divine directive of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, Leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), the global spiritual movement commemorates the 66th Anniversary of the March of the Redeemed, also known as 8 Eton Day. Patriarch Christ Shepherd Amah Williams, the BCS Spokesman, emphasized the significance of this celebration, which reflects the profound spiritual and physical impact of BCS on Nigeria and the world.

This annual event, which began on August 8, 1958, symbolizes the establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth, as prophesied in the Book of Revelation. The March of the Redeemed, from Eton Street to Mbukpa Road in Calabar, marked the revelation of BCS as God’s New Kingdom on earth, fulfilling the prophecies in Revelation 11:15 and 21:1-5. Members of BCS, clad in white soutane, represent purity and righteousness, and this march also heralded the beginning of the spiritual emancipation of the black race.
The 8 Eton Day is more than just an annual event; it is a celebration of humanity’s redemption, unity, and salvation in one Brotherhood of God, man, and all creatures. His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu calls on all religions, peoples, governments, and nations to abandon policies and actions that foster segregation, violence, and division. The event symbolizes the institution of a new world order where unity, peace, and love reign supreme.
BCS has since evolved into a global spiritual movement, fostering peace, unity, and love. In Nigeria, its presence has significantly contributed to national unity and progress. Notably, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu played a crucial role in ending the Nigerian Civil War in 1970 through divine intervention, a prophecy that has continued to hold true, with all attempts to divide the nation having failed.
Since its inception, BCS has organized numerous peace advocacy programs across Nigeria and beyond. In 2014, facing the threat of crisis in the Federal Capital Territory due to rising insecurity, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu’s divine intervention is credited with thwarting destabilization efforts. His peace advocacy has similarly brought stability to other regions in Nigeria, including the South East and South West.
BCS’s impact extends beyond peacebuilding, offering social services, education, and charity globally. The Everlasting Gospel of His Holiness has transformed lives, bringing healing, hope, and righteousness to countless individuals. Economically, BCS’s activities have contributed to local economies, particularly in Cross River State and across Nigeria.
The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star invites all who seek truth to experience its transformative power firsthand. As stated in John 1:45-46, “Come and see” what BCS represents, just as Philip invited Nathaniel to witness the truth about Jesus of Nazareth. This invitation extends to those who may doubt, urging them to witness God’s work in action through BCS.
His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu also addressed the state of humanity, lamenting how far the world has strayed from the path of righteousness. The proliferation of wars and conflicts is a manifestation of deeper global issues, including leadership failures and a widening trust gap between governments and the people they serve. True leadership, according to His Holiness, lies in listening, understanding, and acting in the best interests of all, with a focus on dialogue, empathy, and the common good.
The path forward, His Holiness declared, must be one of reconciliation, humility, and a renewed commitment to the values that bind humanity together. Only through these principles can the wounds of division be healed, and a future built that reflects the true essence of our shared humanity.
Fielding questions on the name, “Eton Day” from newsmen, Patriarch Amah stated that Eton Day”, though a popular street in Calabar, was the cradle of the BCS. But the spiritual significance is that this is the “March of the Redeem”. A one day event that marks the redemption of the world. The holy spirit has been personified in Nigeria. Nigeria needs to benefit first from this spiritual event. Mark by a peaceful procession. The briefing is to announce to the world this unique opportunity to disseminate the message to the world.
Explaining the notion of factors mitigating the acceptance of BCS, Amah explained that, prejudices is a major factor. They have painted BCS with negative vibes. He encouraged people to take a leap of faith to come to BCS. “People are sluggish and have developed cold feet from made up opinions”.
He also noted the issue of ignorance, but he however dispelled this notion by stating that BCS is not about religion but a global movement, beyond sectarian divide.
“On the current #Endbadgovernanceprotest, Amah advised leaders to lead with the fear of God and if leaders do not lead in such manners, God will uproot them. He further advised the citizenry to go about their businesses and be law abiding just as the Holy Father has advised.
The nation Nigeria has a spiritual force and is what has kept the nation together. He ascribed the unified progression to Leader Olumba Olumba Obu. Nigeria should count themselves lucky to have him.
The release concludes with the call by His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu inviting the country Nigeria and the world to come to the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star to experience God’s boundless love and grace. This message, delivered on the occasion of 8 Eton Day, calls for a global embrace of unity, peace, and spiritual renewal. The BCS thanks all who have honoured this message and urges them to share it with the world.
