Stepping onto the training ground, the Chairman was greeted by an electrifying atmosphere, with players exuding vigour and determination. Observing their synergy, Hon. Akposi lauded the team for their spirited display of teamwork and resilience, qualities he described as the leeway to victory. “This is your opportunity to carve your names on gold,” he declared. “Akamkpa has a rich legacy in football, dating back to the MAMSER era and beyond. We have always made our mark, and I am confident this generation will uphold our sporting tradition.”

Hon. Akposi further highlighted Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s unwavering passion for sports, evident in the series of sporting initiatives witnessed across the state. He urged the players to see the Governor’s Cup as not just a competition but a platform for talent discovery and a gateway to footballing stardom.

The players, invigorated by the Chairman’s words, pledged to channel their energy into making Akamkpa proud. Coach Achako, speaking on behalf of the team, expressed profound gratitude for the Chairman’s visit, noting the sacrifices he had made to bring the team this far. “We understand the challenges you faced to get us here, and we thank you immensely for giving us this opportunity. We are fired up to bring the trophy home,” he said.

The visit also served as a bonding moment, with the Chairman sharing anecdotes of Akamkpa’s historic football exploits and urging the players to draw inspiration from the successes of their predecessors. His presence ignited a renewed sense of purpose among the players, who vowed to give their all in the tournament.

As preparations continue, Team Akamkpa United remains resolute in their pursuit of glory, fully aware of the high expectations resting on their shoulders. The Governor’s Cup, a hub for unearthing raw talent, promises to be fiercely competitive, and Akamkpa is poised to stake its claim as a footballing powerhouse.

Hon. Akposi’s visit is not only a testament to his commitment to youth empowerment but also a clarion call for excellence. With the Chairman’s encouragement echoing in their minds, Team Akamkpa United stands on the cusp of greatness, ready to etch their names in the annals of football history.
