In reiterating his avowed pledge to prioritize a people’s centered representation, the member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Onun (Dr) Emil Inyang has promised to change the narrative of the Constituency by bringing development to the overall interest of the people.
Hon. Emil Inyang made this known on Saturday, 6th April, 2024, in a Thanksgiving Mass held at the St. John De Baptist Catholic Church, Akamkpa, Cross River State organized by the stakeholders of his Constituency to thank God for his victory in his just concluded election and rerun of double confirmation.
Onun Emil in the Thanksgiving Mass emphasized the need for the people of Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency to come together for the collective development of the Constituency, noting that elections has come and gone, as he had put everything behind, while harping on people and inclusive representation.
Maintaining that he will never disappoint his people who freely gave him the mandate, the lawmaker added that he would be intentional to do his best, while highlighting his policy trust programmes in the next quarter of the year – ranging from people’s oriented bills and motions, students scholarships, empowerments and employments, markets, schools and primary health care development projects, among others…
In his homily, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Eneyo charged leaders to emulate Hon. Emil Inyang, adding that his victory at the elections and even in the re-run was a reciprocal love and confidence the people of Akamkpa/Biase have on him, as well as the will of God Almighty at His appointed time.
Eulogizing him for giving back to God, the clergymen asserts that the people’s legislator fulfilled the scripture of celebrating the festival of harvest and ingathering in the Lord’s vineyard, while urging other political leaders to imbibe kindness.
The event was attended by the governor of Cross River State represented by the SSG, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, Senator representing Southern Senatorial District, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, former deputy governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Esu, OFR, House of rep member for Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, Hon. Alex Egbonna, former Akamkpa/Biase House of Reps member, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo.
Others were the Cross River State DG for Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, Hon. Charles Atu, Commissioner for youth development, Barr. Ijom Ukam, Commissioner for Works, Hon. Ankpo Pius, Former Chairman of Biase Local Government Council now SA to the governor on Community Relations, Hon. Ada Charles, amongst other top government officials, critical stakeholders of Akamkpa/Biase and traditional leaders.
The highlights of the event was an agog reception, a town hall engagements with the critical stakeholders of the Constituency, as well as a token of appreciation to selected beneficiaries of the 21 wards of Akamkpa and Biase.
