The Chairman of Akpabuyo Local Government Council, Hon. (Prince) Effiom Bassey Effiong, hosted a grand thanksgiving service at The Apostolic Church Field Headquarters, Ikot Nakanda, Akpabuyo, to express gratitude for divine grace and blessings upon his leadership. The service, attended by dignitaries and stakeholders, underscored the profound importance of thanksgiving as a catalyst for divine elevation and continued blessings.

Delivering a powerful sermon, the Field Superintendent, Apostle (Dr.) Etta E. Edet JP emphasised the transformative power of gratitude, noting that acts of thanksgiving open doors to unprecedented favour and opportunities. He commended Hon. Effiom for his public acknowledgment of God’s love and grace, describing it as a testimony of faith and leadership.

The event reached its zenith with special donations dedicated to advancing cocoa plantation development in Akpabuyo, a project poised to catalyse agricultural and economic growth. Testimonies of divine providence abounded, with numerous attendees contributing generously to the noble initiative.

A notable highlight was the presence of Hon. (Ophot) Felix Akposi, KSJI, Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Council, who graced the occasion with his wife. Hon. Akposi pledged technical and consultancy support to Akpabuyo, drawing on Akamkpa’s longstanding expertise in cocoa production. “We have been in the cocoa business for decades. Our wealth of experience will be deployed to assist Akpabuyo in achieving its cocoa development goals,” he affirmed.

In his response, Hon. (Prince) Effiom expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Akposi for his willingness to share expertise and resources. He reiterated the significance of collaboration, acknowledging Akamkpa’s preeminence in cocoa cultivation and its invaluable role in shaping Akpabuyo’s agricultural ambitions. “This partnership is a testament to our shared prosperity and commitment to regional development,” Hon. Effiom remarked.

The event’s overarching theme aligned seamlessly with the vision of the Cross River State 2024 Carnival, aptly themed “Our Shared Prosperity.” This synergy reflects the state’s aspiration for collaborative progress across local government councils, with agricultural development at the forefront.

Notable attendees included but not limited to the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, some Chairmen of Council, APC State Chairman of the party Barr. Alphonsus Eba, Hon. Abigail Duke, Commissioner for Commerce, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba all lauded the exemplary display of inter-council cooperation, describing the partnership as a beacon of hope for sustainable development. The thanksgiving service thus became a rallying point for stakeholders committed to leveraging collective strengths to transform Akpabuyo’s agricultural landscape.

As the curtains fell on the remarkable ceremony, it became evident that gratitude, collaboration, and vision would serve as the cornerstone of Akpabuyo’s journey towards agricultural and economic renaissance.
