The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Cross River State Council, has felicitated the Wife of the Governor, Eyoawan Bassey Otu, on her 62nd birthday.
The union described her as a symbol of compassion, service, and humanitarian excellence.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday in Cross River State, the NUJ Chairman, Archibong Bassey, congratulated the First Lady on the milestone, noting that her life has been marked by a sustained commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups and promoting social welfare across the state.
The union particularly commended her pet project, Humanity Without Borders, which it said had continued to make significant impact through targeted interventions in healthcare delivery, women and youth empowerment, and support for the less privileged.
According to the statement, the First Lady’s humanitarian strides have positively touched many lives, especially at the grassroots, where access to basic services remains a challenge.
“The media community in the state has closely followed and documented her initiatives, ensuring that her efforts receive the visibility they deserve,” the statement read.
The NUJ added that her programmes have continued to complement government policies aimed at improving the wellbeing of citizens, describing her interventions as timely and impactful.
The union also prayed for God’s continued blessings upon her life, wishing her good health, wisdom, strength, and longevity as she continues in her service to humanity.
It expressed confidence that the First Lady would sustain and expand her humanitarian outreach in the years ahead, deepening her impact within and beyond Cross River communities.
