NDDC, Holds Youth Summit For Youth In Cross River

The Niger Delta Development Commission in collaboration with the 360 degree for women has held a 3-day youth summit in Cross River State, aimed at commemorating the international 2025 Youth day celebration.

With the theme “The role of Youths in the sustenance of peace and development in the Niger Delta region,” the summit which drew participating youths from across all works of life, is aimed at channelling youth energy into productive economic pursuit.

The summit also focused on addressing Nigeria unprecedented challenges such as insecurity, unemployment, poverty, youth restrictiveness, as well as how youth can manage and resolve conflict in the Niger Delta region.

Speaking on Friday, in Calabar venue of the summit, Onyekachi Nwamkpa, representative of the 360 Degree empowerment for women in his opening address said the program will provide youths the opportunities to network, utilize digital economy for sustainable growths.

He disclosed that the event was an Opportunity to assemble sustainable development digital technologies such as mobile device services, artificial intelligence are in advance in the sustainable developmental goals, SDGs.

“Today marks a significant celebration, and we’re excited to assemble sustainable development digital technologies, including mobile device services and artificial intelligence, to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“The 360-Degree Empowerment for Women initiative has organized special activities to make this celebration memorable.

We believe the youths present here today will greatly benefit from the insightful lectures and networking opportunities with fellow participants. We’re honored to host this event and pray that every youth present will gain valuable knowledge and insights.

“Opportunities to assemble sustainable development digital technologies such as mobile device services, artificial intelligence are in advance in the sustainable developmental goals, SDGs.

“Three sixty degree empowerment for women has advanced special activities to mark today’s celebration to make it a memorable one.

“We believe that youths present here today will learn greatly from the lectures that will be presented today and will also network with fellow participants.”-He said.

In a vote of thanks, the State Director of the NDDC Dr Chief Daniel Ajunwa represented by Dr. Mrs. Eme Inyangabia the Assistant Director, Agric/Fisheries thanked participants for choosing to learn on how to be improve their finances through digital economy.

She said “We’re grateful to the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for bringing the International Youths Day Celebration 2025 to our state.

“Today, we’ve gathered to learn, make new friends, and celebrate. As the saying goes, ‘no one has the monopoly of knowledge.’ I’ve learned so much from our facilitators, especially about improving my finances in today’s Nigeria. We all need multiple streams of income, and I’ve discovered new ways to use my phone to make money.

“We’ve been exposed to the multiple uses of our phones and other facilities to better our lives. We’re more than just restless youths; we’re here to improve our productivity, livelihoods, and the lives of those around us.

“Thank you to the MD and to all of you for joining us. Have a wonderful time, and a happy Valentine’s Day. I love you all!”

The summit featured panel discussions, ideas sharing , cultural display, presentations of certificates to participants, and group photographs.
