As encomiums continue to pour in from across Cross River State and beyond on the occasion of Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s 66th birthday, the National President of the National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN), who also doubles as the Cross River State Chairman of the Association, Prof. Boniface Ogbu Odey, has joined millions of well-wishers in celebrating what he described as a visionary and people-oriented leader.

In a goodwill message issued in Calabar on Friday, Prof. Odey extolled Governor Otu’s sterling leadership qualities, noting that his administration has been characterized by humility, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to good governance. He described the governor’s leadership style as one rooted in peace, agricultural revival, infrastructure renewal, and economic inclusiveness, which have inspired renewed confidence and hope among the people of Cross River State.

According to him, Governor Otu’s People-First Mantra has remained the driving force of his administration, demonstrating that true leadership is not merely about occupying political office but about positively impacting lives and shaping destinies.

“As our amiable and visionary leader, the ‘Sweet Prince,’ celebrates his 66th birthday, we thank God for his life of purpose, humility, and service to humanity. His achievements in promoting unity, peace, and development have continued to define a new era of progress for Cross River State,” Prof. Odey said.

He further prayed for God’s continued guidance, renewed strength, wisdom, and grace for Governor Otu to steer the state toward greater prosperity and to consolidate its place as the nation’s preferred tourism destination.

Prof. Odey concluded by reaffirming the support of NAPTAN for the governor’s vision of transforming Cross River State into a model of inclusive development and sustainable growth.
