> “One of my core mandates is security, and I made a firm resolve to address the establishment of the Oban Police Division. I am fully aware of the security challenges faced by my people in Akamkpa II, especially as we share a border with Cameroon. The presence of this police unit is a monumental step in the right direction,” Hon. Akposi stated.

Following the inspection, CSP James Nkanu led a delegation to the Ntufam Council, where they were warmly received by Ntufam Sylvanus Bassey. Expressing satisfaction with the state of the facility, the Zonal Works Officer commended Hon. Akposi’s proactive approach in ensuring the project’s fruition.

> “The Chairman has displayed remarkable determination in getting this facility operational. Our visit today is part of the official commissioning process, and from all indications, this place is ready for use,” CSP Nkanu affirmed.

Recognising the challenges of the region’s rugged terrain, CSP Bassey Usen lauded the initiative, underscoring its significance in enhancing security.

> “Navigating this terrain is no easy task, yet the Chairman has demonstrated exceptional leadership in ensuring that this police division becomes a reality. We fully support this project and its long-term benefits,” he remarked.

Speaking on behalf of the Clan Head, Ntufam Okpata Stephen Mbey, Ntufam Sylvanus Bassey extolled Hon. Akposi’s commitment to delivering on promises where others had faltered.

> “The Chairman is deeply passionate about this project, and today, his efforts have yielded tangible results. We have heard many promises in the past, but through him, this long-awaited security initiative has finally come to life. We are immensely grateful,” he stated.

With the Oban Police Division on the verge of commissioning, Hon. Akposi’s administration reaffirms its dedication to safeguarding Akamkpa II, bolstering security infrastructure, and addressing the unique challenges of border communities.
