In a momentous event, Lady Pastor Helen Emmah Isong J.P., wife of Dr. Emmah Isong, has been consecrated as a Bishop by the College of Bishops. The ceremony took place on Sunday at the Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI) World Headquarters in Ikot Ene Obong, Calabar, signifying a new chapter in her spiritual journey.

Presiding over the ceremony was Bishop Paul Vincent from Kingdom Power Chapel in El Paso, Texas, USA. He called on Lady Pastor Isong to view her new role as a significant responsibility to propagate God’s word. “Preach the truth, don’t be like others who will turn away from the truth. I pray God to help you as you enter a new season and new phase,” he urged.

Bishop Vincent drew from the Book of Genesis 11:31-32 to emphasize the importance of not letting past achievements hinder future progress. He encouraged Lady Pastor Isong to embrace her new role with humility and dedication, stressing that her elevation was a call to greater service and responsibility.

In his exhortation, Bishop Vincent also referenced John 12:13, urging the new Bishop not to be disheartened by past failures. “Like Apostle Peter who failed in ministry and quit only to go back to fishing which was his old trade. Like Abraham, forget your past success and move on. You have just entered into a new dimension of Glory. God will fast-track a new path of success,” he proclaimed.

The newly consecrated Bishop’s life and achievements were highlighted during the ceremony. Born in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, Lady Pastor Isong has a rich educational background. She started her education at African Church Princess Girls’ School in Lagos and continued at Our Lady of Apostle Secondary School and Queens College in Lagos, before earning a B.Sc in Chemistry from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

Her academic journey didn’t stop there. She obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Calabar and later earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Masters Degree in Policy and Administrative Studies. In 2013, she was admitted to the University of London, where she obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Laws, a Post Graduate Diploma in Laws, and a Masters of Laws (LLM).

Currently, Lady Pastor Isong serves as the Administrator and Legal Adviser at CCCI, Calabar. Her dedication to her faith and community earned her recognition as one of Nigeria’s 100 Leading Women in 2021. Her marriage to Bishop Dr. Emmah Isong has spanned 35 years, and they are blessed with three children and six grandchildren.

Lady Pastor Isong’s ministry extends beyond Nigeria. She has preached the gospel in the United States, France, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Israel, Ghana, and Cameroon. She is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Counselors, and holds a diploma in French.

Her career also includes significant contributions to education, having taught mathematics at Holy Child College and St. Patrick’s College in Calabar. Before her elevation to Bishop, she served as the National Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) women’s wing. This consecration marks a new and impactful chapter in her ministry.
