The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Cross River State branch, has praised Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his exceptional leadership since assuming office last year. The commendation came as the governor marked his 65th birthday, with IPAC describing him as a “leader with a difference” who has been responsive to the needs of the people.

In a telephone conversation with our correspondent, IPAC Chairman in Cross River State, Engr. Effiom Edet-Okon, highlighted the governor’s achievements, noting his commitment to listening to the concerns of the public. Reflecting on Gov. Otu’s birthday, Engr. Edet-Okon lauded the governor’s leadership, particularly his prompt response to IPAC’s appeal regarding the upcoming local government elections.

The group appreciated Governor Otu for heeding their call to extend the local government polls by a week and reduce the fee for intent forms. “The governor showed a rare quality of leadership by giving a listening ear when IPAC requested that the forthcoming local government polls be extended by one week, with the fee for intent forms reviewed downward. This gesture has allowed aspirants with limited resources an opportunity to participate,” Engr. Edet-Okon noted.

In a statement issued by IPAC and signed by its chairman, the group conveyed their best wishes to the governor, stating, “As a group, we felicitate with our ‘people-first’ Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, as you celebrate life in wholeness. Your tireless efforts to transform our dear state are commendable, and we are proud of the remarkable strides you have achieved.”

The statement further highlighted areas of progress under the governor’s administration, such as solid minerals exploration, agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. “Cross River, under your watch, has witnessed a tremendous turnaround. Your commitment to the welfare and progress of the people is inspiring,” the statement read.

As Governor Otu turned 65, IPAC acknowledged his steadfast dedication to public service and his vision for a brighter future for Cross River State. “We celebrate your unwavering dedication to public service and your vision for a better Cross River State. May this special day bring you joy, and may your leadership continue to uplift the lives of the people you serve,” the group expressed.

IPAC concluded their message with warm wishes, stating, “We wish you a wonderful birthday and many more years of impactful service.”
