Prominent traditional rulers and dignitaries from across the world have begun converging on Calabar, Cross River State, for the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Divine Coronation of the Universal Monarch, Olumba Olumba Obu.
The event, holding at the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star World Headquarters, has drawn significant national and international attention, with high-profile personalities arriving to honour the spiritual leader’s 25 years on the throne.
Among early arrivals is renowned activist and Yoruba leader, Ganiyu Adams, who leads a delegation comprising coordinators from Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Enugu and Ebonyi states.
Adams, who holds the revered title of Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland and is the leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress, described his presence as a mark of respect for the Universal Monarch and the significance of the milestone being celebrated.
His arrival underscores the growing national relevance of the event, as more dignitaries, monarchs and religious leaders are expected to grace the occasion.

Organisers say the Silver Jubilee celebration will feature a series of spiritual activities, thanksgiving services and cultural displays, reflecting the global reach and influence of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star.
The influx of visitors has also boosted commercial activities in Calabar, with hotels and transport services witnessing increased patronage ahead of the main events.
The celebration marks 25 years since the coronation of Obu as the Universal Monarch, a position revered by members of the Brotherhood worldwide.
