His emergence follows the expiration of the two-year tenure of the immediate past Chairman, Mrs. Onari Duke, Leader of the Bayside Band and wife of former Governor Donald Duke.

The announcement was made, Tuesday by Mrs. Duke after a day-long Carnival appraisal meeting with Band Leaders and the leadership of the Carnival Commission in Calabar.

In declaring the winner after the selection process, Mrs. Duke expressed optimism that Anderson would utilize his “youthful energy” to revitalize the association and meet current challenges.
